Why Olympic weightlifting?

Welcome to our On Ramp Program at Stonehenge Weightlifting! We're excited to help you get started on your weightlifting journey with our comprehensive three-session program. Our program is designed to prepare you for the technical movements of the snatch, clean, and jerk with proper form and technique.
The first session is an evaluation to assess your readiness to perform the snatch and clean and jerk. We'll focus on fundamental movements such as squats and deadlifts, as well as mobility work and empty bar work. Our experienced coaches will work with you to identify any areas that need improvement and develop a plan to help you achieve your goals.
Basics of Snatch and
Clean and Jerk
In session two, we'll dive into the basics of the snatch and clean and jerk. You can expect to work on position work, such as lifts from the hip position and hang position. Our coaches will provide detailed instruction on proper technique and form, ensuring that you feel confident and comfortable with each movement.
Tying it all
In the final session of our program, we'll tie everything together and practice the lifts from different positions. We'll continue to work on proper form and technique, building on what you've learned in the previous sessions. Our goal is to prepare you to transition into our regular classes with the skills and confidence to continue making progress.
